Judge calls for review after allowing hourly fee of £786
A High Court Judge allowed the successful defendant solicitors to recover up to £46,000 in costs with rates far in excess of the Senior Courts Costs Office guideline rate. Mrs Justice O’Farrell said that prescribed rates fixed in 2010 were “not helpful” in determining reasonable rates in 2019 adding that updated guideline rates would be “very welcome”.
